2013 High School Acting Competition 

Looking for a way to showcase your student's acting talent in an environment that will allow for competition and growth as a performer? 

Georgia Shakespeare’s 6th Annual High School Acting Competition is open to all Georgia high school students, grades 9-12.  School programs and individuals are encouraged to apply.  Schools with five or more participating students are eligible to enter the Shakespeare Sweepstakes. 

Monologues and scenes from Shakespeare only!  Monologues should be no longer than two minutes in length; scenes should be no longer than seven minutes with only two actors per scene. Participants will be evaluated by members of the award-winning Georgia Shakespeare Acting Company.

 This year’s date is: Saturday February 16th, 2013 from 9:00-5:00pm

 $25.00 entrance fee per student. Deadline February 8th, 2013.

 Scholarships/Trophies for first, second and third in the following categories:

 

Shakespeare Sweepstakes

*Determined by the average of the five highest scoring participants from each school.

First place receives a free performance of next year’s tour for their school.

 

Best Monologue

First place receives a scholarship to Georgia Shakespeare's High School Conservatory, worth $600.

The conservatory takes place the last two weeks in June 18th-29th.

 

Best Scene Presentation

First place receives scholarships to Georgia Shakespeare's High School Conservatory, worth $600.

The conservatory takes place June 18th-29th.

 

Medals and gift certificates awarded to runners-up in each category. Certificates and written evaluations given to all participants.
